Hi my friends... :D
I thought about presenting some of my projects as well...
I decided to start with my little blue boxes project...
It has been inspired by the playmo miniatures that have been
with the christmas sets resp. with the vedes birthday truck...
I disliked them because they were in a inappropriate scale and
only printed on the front side...
So, I decided to do some by myself... 8-)
They are in a scale of 1:20 to the original, what makes them a
little oversized in a klicky-world but they are much more handy
to make and I love that you can see all the neat details on each
side of the box... :wow:
Enough words... here we go:
1. You have to do a lot of cutting and scraping, but once you are done...
2. ...you did make your klickies nice new toys in a highly german quality standard. :P
-
This is, how the cards look like before cutting...
I already made some sets... :D
Namely:
3019
3977
3200
3716
3268
3327
5737
3269
5732
3665
5736
3750
3938
3940
4067
4034
5301
5360
and a little set of specials...
:-[
And there are about ten in the queue... ::)
-
Finally, a little cartoon featuring my little friends...
Called: "capture of a new vessel"
:D
-
I am right now try to get good images of all the framework houses...
They are definitely missing in my collection...
So, see you around then...

Thank you for sharing.
I can verify that the little boxes are very cool
Can people contact you if they would like copies of your little boxes?

Of course they can! I even have printer-ready pdf's for download...
I once planned with sylvia to place them onto j4k, but I never found
time to setup a download page as I would like to have it... :-[
But, Sylvia, I still like this idea!!! :D
Hey! Just a thought:
What about a members download site for things like that? :toot:
Till then, I'd be glad to support anyone interested with the blind links
for download... The only condition is that I would like to see pictures
posted here of any toy shop or mansion equipped with these boxes,
as this is what gives me the motivation to continue this project...
:yup:
best regards,
socrates

Another thing we never found enough time to do. :-[
But it is possible to attach pdf's to posts at PlaymoFriends! :D Are your files below 100kb each?
If you post the box art as attachments on this topic, then at least you will know that only members of the forum have access to them. Hopefully, that will make it a little more secure then uploading them to an unprotected webspace. :)

As the pdf's are whole side 300dpi images, they unfortunately exceed the
100 kb by far. The file size ranges from 500 to 1.800 kb... :(
But I like the idea in general... Any other suggestions? ;)

Hm, I can imagine a workaround, but I'm not sure, if this will not be to "complicated" for usage ... anyway, I try to explain my sudden idea:
You can host the files on somebodys Web site in a protected directory/folder (this simply can be done by adding an access file interpreted by the Web server); for accessing this folder respectively the corresponding URL you have to enter a user ID and a password. Those both information can be shown in a thread within an attached picture, so the information only will be visibile to members; the URL can be public available.
Ok, not the best solution, but a possible one :)

BTW, I would also be interested in your boxes/PDF files. Actually I have/had an "project" idea for which I need several of these boxes. So far I just used the ones that are circulating in the forums (I think, some must have been yours). And I made some for myself, but only some few ones (cf. e.g. here (http://www.jr-x.de/playmobil/customizing/paper.html)). The few ones had been just enough for this photo (http://www.jr-x.de/playmobil/projekte/photocompetition_2005-05.jpg), but the other idea I have in mind requires some more boxes -- best a lot of different ones. So maybe there is the possibility to receive some from you. (BTW, if somebody wants, I can make my ones available too.)

Little Jo! :)9
I really like your idea! I just have to setup a password-file for my webpage...
Afterwards, some things can be so easily solved...
AND, finally, I have to setup a starting page to make the stuff a little more
accessible... :-[
Then, soon, you will get a picture posted here... :D
BTW: I love the picture you did with the little ones! It's brilliant!
:wow:
Psyche: Happy you like them and I am looking forward to see them in action... ;)

Socrates, these are so cool. May I borrow your HTML page layout so that I can provide my very few little blue boxes too on my Web site? (So we can share them within a common look&feel).

It's not like I did not borrow the colors from this page... Jochen, of course feel free to
put your boxes in a "common look and feel"...
If I remember right, you did them in a different scale, right? 1:15 or so...
Do you mind scale them into 1:10 as well? (for my collection? ;) )...
best regards,
socrates

Thank you! Thank you! I bet there will be lots of Playmo Trees surrounded with Perfect blue boxes this holiday season! You have given everyone here a wonderful gift Socrates! :-* :-*

Great. I will give you all a hint, when I have them online.

It was 1:14 (also cf. my scale article (http://www.jr-x.de/playmobil/customizing/scale.html)). But I also have them/can make them in 1:10 and 1:20; that's no big deal.

Finally my last contribution to Little Paper Work for the next time 8}:
For those who are keen on that kind of stuff (like myself ;D), I have just finished a template with some more little blue boxes, namely the sets 4203, 4204, 4205, 4207, and 4208 (woodland theme). [PDF file, 2 pages, size 702 KB]
In the "pipeline" I have some specials like 4616, 4631, 4630, 4631 as well as 3164, 3208, and 4411, which will probably be come in two different PDF files (the specials and the rest).
All templates contain the boxes in three different scales, 1:10, 1:14, and 1:20 (for this also cf. my article about scale (http://www.jr-x.de/playmobil/customizing/scale.html)) with a resolution of 300 DPI.
For not spreading this generally over the Net I would like to ask the members of this board who are interested in the templates just to send me a short private message with their e-mail address (and the templates they are interested in), so that I can send the file(s) directly to them.
Aem, just to prevent some misunderstanding: this should not turn into an ordering process of arbitrary sets, just the ones mentioned above ;)
Also note, that the templates are for private and personal use only.

Want to show you, what I did with Socrates´ Little Blue Boxes! ;)
Look at the pictures of a fanatic Playmobil Collector.
That´s what I was looking at Christmas Eve this year. ;D
Have fun!
-
That's a huge pile of Playmo, Daniela! :D
Father Christmas certainly was generous to you this year! ;)
Thanks for posting the photo. :)
And thank you, Socrates, for providing us with the templates for the mini boxes! :-*
