Happy New Year, Playmofriends!
Yesterday, the "island mail boat" brought a wonderful surprise!
I noticed from the postmark that it took almost a month to arrive ... (And, DD sent it "Priority Luftpost").
I tore open the package (which was not easy, as DD had secured it with lots of very strong tape) ... :)
Everything inside was safe and unbroken ... Well done DD! ... :wow:
The "Gift" is perfect! ... :love:
In 1493, Christopher Columbus made his second voyage to the New World and visited the Virgin Islands. Columbus named the Islands after Saint Ursula and her 11,000 virgins (Islas de Santa Ursula y las Once Mil Virgenes)!
COLUMBUS HAS RETURNED! THANK YOU, DEADEYE DICK!
I have attached scans of DD's custom box and the splendid card that he sent with his magnificent custom.
Over the next few weeks I will take Chris around the Islands that he discovered and named, and take some photos.
But, for now here's the first attachment ... "the Card" ... :love:

And, here's the second attachment ... "the Box" ... :love:

Hmmm ...
I just realized that to really appreciate DD's beautiful "boxart," that everyone might be tempted to turn their computers upside down ... :lol:
So, here's the picture proper side up ... ;)

Excellent custom Richard! Congrats on your gift.
And a "Well Done" to DD - wonderful job, and I love the card and box.
I noticed, with great pleasure I might add ;), a preponderance of nautical/pirate klickies sent in this year's swap event. Very very cool!

Yes!, excellent custom, and another Well Done DD. :wow:
You didn't have to turn your picture over Richard, It looks
normal if you stand on your head! 8}
Best regards,
Jimbo

What a cool gift! :D
DD's choice of figure was delightfully appropriate and the presentation also superb. :love:
Thanks for posting the scans of the card and box, Richard!
Looking forward to following klicky Chris' exploration of the Islands. :)

Hi Richard,
I really appreciate you like the gift and that everything arrived without any damage. It's the first time I've sent something to the Virgin Islands, so I was a bit worried 8}
Thank you also for providing us this nice historical background of Columbus visiting your place back in '93 ;)
I'm looking forward to your pictures of the Island trip :love:
Cheers,
DD.
