Cute story! I love the whole concept.
It's pretty difficult to create a story which can be understood simply through photos and no additional text, but I think you've done a great job. 8-)
Well done and thanks for sharing it with us. :)9

magic instead of cannon balls seems to be a new way to do it.
great story.
thanks.

Aaargh! It didn't quite work right. There was a final frame that didn't appear because I can only put ten pictures in a slideshow (on Photobucket). I thought I deleted this whole thread and was going to start again, posting all the pictures separately, and adding some description of each - though as you say, most of them are self-explanatory.
Ah well, it was my first attempt and I hope to do better. I'd like to develop a story around each character in time, and maybe the ten-frame slideshow will develop discipline!
The punchline was that the Port Admiral (the guy on th right in every frame) tries to demonstrate the magic himself, but it goes a bit wrong - here's the final two frames:

Nicely done ... Well executed ... Love the last two frames!
If you are using a Macintosh, Martin, you can do a slide show automatically and save it as an mpg, which you can upload here without having to go through a "photobucket" site.
I'm sure that there must be something similar for Windows users ... ???
Regardless, we all know how much creative effort, time and thought is required for a project like this. And, I think I speak for everyone when I say, "We are really appreciating, as well as enjoying, your presentation and your show!" Thank you!
All the best,
Richard

I really enjoyed your photostory, Martin - as they say, a picture's worth a thousand words. At times it's quite surreal, but the punchline brings everything very much back to earth.
Thank you!

Very nice! I enjoyed watching it! :D
(I'll have to make sure no magicians approach my pirates or their ships!! :omg:)

Great story.
So how are they going to use the pelican to defeat the pirates? :hmm:

Ahhhhh.... I did think that the sequence ended a bit oddly the first time I watched it.
It does make more sense now. :yup:
Great ending!

Very funny story, Martin! :D
Thanks for sharing.
I am just wondering what will be the main strategy to use magic against pirates?! ???
wizarding holes into their ships? Or are they going to shoot tons of magical blankets onto the enemies vessels? :)

Aha, that would be telling, but as soon as I've got the space to layout the next installment I'll be doing the next sequence. The Port Admiral will NOT be attempting this on his own, he'll be bringing back the expert.
Our house is in a bit of a mess at present because my brother is emigrating and we're taking some of his furniture, so i currently don't have a good place to lay the stage for the next act.

  :wow: I really did laugh when i saw this !! It is a truly wonderfull story and very detailed. I must say that even though the last couple of pictures were missing from the slide show i still 'got it' !! Posting them here certainly didnt detract from the story at all, they were the icing on the cake so to speak and fitted quite nicely !!
All in all a wonderfull first attempt, i am looking forward to more of your work :)

It is amazing how much of a story you can tell with klickies when their facial expressions can't change. That was a super effort.

Thanks to your story, a certain man with a middle initial of W is flying to Iraq with a giant handkerchief.
Thanks again. Don't we have enough problems????
