Title: 5770 Tool?
Post by: Little Jo on June 29, 2007, 05:06:31
Does anybody know, that this little item (30 60 5330, left bottom) held by the diver in her right hand is for?

The other items from the 30 60 5330 seem to be quite clear to me: two diver's watches/instruments, the flash, but what is this pistol like handheld item for  ???

Maybe some sort of sound magnifying device?

A sound pistol (to scare off bity fishs)? Hm, could make sense. Does something like this exist? Anybody knows?

Ah, I was thinking the other way round - a device to magnify the sounds made by fishes for recording purposes, although that has the problem there doesn't seem to be a recorder of any kind.

I think you're probably right with your interpretation.

Hello, it is not appraised well, but it seems a lantern and a submarine camera with flash unit, like Nikonos V

You consider that the own water amplifies much the sound. A sound that is generated to kilometers seems that he is very next

Seeing the images it seems that the 4 elements that are mentioned are the clock, depth gauge, lantern and head of flash

It would lack the pressure gauge, but it is not indispensable if it is had an air bottle with reserve

In my opinion Argand is right, it is a underwater flashlight.
It apeared already in an older set 3807 from Antex (page 249 first collector)

Ah, ok. Thank you.

The one I'm wondering about was the Torche (so the rest I assumed right; the reason why I bought this was because of the camera incl. the flash, so I only wondered about the rest of items).

So the Torche plastic item seems to be a kind of universal item (can be interpreted as anything) ... maybe we should call it the "thing" or the "any-thing"

Under the water as soon as there is visibility, specially for the color, the lantern or torche is useful in cloudy waters like those of the Bay of Biscay. The torche would be used to see during the immersion, whereas the flash would be used solely to photograph.

Thanks for the info. Makes absolutely sense to me. So I think I customize it a little bit and add a yellow or white front so it can be recognized as a torch/flashlight.

I think that's what's needed.  Maybe Playmobil should do the same, although maybe it's a bit too small for a mass production item.

Yes, that was the one I had in mind when talking about a yellow light.
