Title: Switching legs on hitched skirts
Post by: indianapierre on August 25, 2015, 02:58:17
OK, I can't figure this out. With the old skirts, I could press a tongue in the hole on top, and the feet would just pop out.

The hitched skirts, however, nothing. I really need these "shoes" on that "dress"!! Who thought bare feet was appropriate!!! :p

Help!?

Inside the skirts, there is a small "notch" (not sure this is the right English word) that prevents the feet from being removed from these newer skirts, it is located opposite of the other "standard notch" that keeps the feet "klicked" in place with the older skirts. I remove the additional notch with a cutter-knife from the opening on top of the skirt, then I can push out the feet it came with and insert other ones.
So it is somewhat less practical to exchange the feet of these skirts.

Not sure if anyone else has or knows of a better technique?  ???

Thanks for bringing that to the attention, I would have struggled too, 'cause I had no idea  :)

Alright, got it to work! Thanks for the advice!

P.S. That was awful. I was working on each leg-set for about 20 mins, trying not to cut my fingers. Note: cut those notches BEFORE you ever insert the legs, preferably as soon as you get them out of the bag.

I use a thin xacto like blade.... Works fine. I mean, it's a pain and all, but not that long. Still.. why in Tartarus is that thing there in the first place?!

(usually the feet are already in place... )

To prevent easy customizing? To leave evidence (small marks) when a figure has been customized?  ::)

But.. WHY?  And with the figures series, that is a major pain too... and quite against the concept.

But.. WHY?

Maybe some designers don´t like we improve some of the klickies they created?
Maybe the company doesn´t like kids (and their parents) asking for specific klickies they´ve seen online or in displays but that were never produced?

Just a few of several thoughts...

My guess is that with the shape maybe they had a problem with the legs falling out so added the extra connection point to keep that from happening.

or maybe those legs will also go on normal (non-Fi?ures) klickies which are not supposed to be interchangeable  8}

Figures are the same as regular, apart from the head and frame, AFAIK...
(thank the gods for at least that!?)

I ended up damaging one of the tabs to get it out of the violin fi?ure. I wanted to see if they were compatible with the caveman legs - skirt legs fit on caveman, not sure if I tried the other way around. Those legs were easier to remove. The violin girl's legs fall out now because of the damage which is annoying. And no, the caveman doesn't look good with little black shoes. :-[
