I finished my own french Line Infantry Rgt.
I choose a time period between 1810/12.....with the classic uniforms and some soldiers received the new plaques for the shakos.
I think locate this troops on Peninsular War.... ;D
As everything in Playmobil is a little bit smaller.....I make Companies of 24 soldiers plus a Subofficer..... ::)
A french Line Inf. Battalion have....
- 4 Company of fusiliers
- 1 Company of Voltigeurs
- 1 Company of Grenadiers
- About 150 soldiers plus a little Staff....a bit crazy but not too much....
The difference between the 4 fusiliers Companies is on the colour of the pompom for the shakos.
- 1ª Company..... "dark green"
- 2ª Company..... "ligth blue"
- 3ª Company..... "aurore"
- 4ª Company..... "Burgundy" (lie de vin)
Now I need finished with some little details....and make some another characters like ...
- Officers
- Surgeon and his assistant
- Drummers
- Standard-bearer
- Etc, etc..... 8}
Well....go with some images.....I hope you like it....
-
One image of the 4 fusiliers in formation.....
And now comes the Grenadiers and Voltigeurs....
-
Finally.....the full Battalion.
And one image of the Officers and a Surgeon Assistant
Aux armes, citoyens....!!!
Formez vos bataillons...!!!
Marchons....marchons....!!!
Qu´un sang impur, abreuve nos sillons...

As didactic way....for no Napoleonic initiated....
Many time we can see Infantry soldiers with the classic hat "bonnet à poil".....and we think "is a grenadier".....yes but no....
From left to rigth
- Imperial Guard Grenadier
- Imperial Guard foot Chasseur
- Ligth Infantry "Carabinier"
- Line Infantry Grenadier
Also....some Cavalry "elite" troops use this type of hat....and the Imperial Guard foot Artillery....Gendarmerie.....is a bit crazy, I know.... 8} ;D
