Title: La aventura de la historia - Playmobil Book + Figur Collection
Post by: mrbfly on March 13, 2015, 07:23:51
I think a few already heard of it:

there is a new Book+Figur collection by De Agostini.
Each set include a Book and a Playmobil figure. There 50 Books, but only about 24 figures are known for now...

looks very interesting, especially when you see what themes are coming to which the figure is missing in the picture :)

Maybe someone else has more infos? Especially about the figures that will come!?!

Wow, what great figures! Any idea where in the world (apart from Spain?) they will be available?
I counted 27 figures here. I wonder if they will do female figures too (Płaymobil magazine in UK is targeted at boys and has only male figures, but Germany has magazines with female figures)?

That is the mag that copied shamelessly pirateclick's Troubadour.

AFAIK, it is a limited release in Spain - testing the waters. That lame company is famous for not completing their series. First (and second, sometimes) volumes are usually a good deal. After that, it is expensive as Hades, harder to find, and sometimes they just don't complete it.

I wouldn't mind having the first black knight (2.99, I think).. But I THINK it was 6 after, and 8 for the rest, so... Besides, I don't particularly like reading in spanish, so it would be kinda pointless. Thouh they ARE pretty.

These Collections will be available in Spain and in France.

I also have a pic with a overview about the 50 books that will be available, but I'm not able to upload that picture, cause the size of it is more about 100kb (and if I make it less than 100kb you can't read it anymore).

I think there won't be any female figures, the other seems are for example:
- Marco Polo
- the old china
- Mongoles
- Mayas
- Legends of old Japan
- The wise men of Athen
- The King of Mespotamien
etc... so most themes for male figures.

i will resume what playmo tv found out about this:
- the collection is still in a try-out phase;
- only the 1st number was put on sale;
- this number was only available in some spanish towns - the ones that were picked as test-markets;
- the collection will only be available in spain and planeta deagostini will not accept shipping it to other countries;
- nobody knows how much longer we will have to wait for the next number;
- nobody is even sure if the collection will go on or not;
- there are conflicting reports that planeta deagostini will surely put it on sale or that they are still thinking about it and analysing the success of this 1st number;
- some playmofans wrote and phoned planetadeagostini and got very different answers;
- the collection is still not shown at plneta deagostini spanish site (this seems to indicate that no developments have happend).
i started this as a resume and it's going on and on...
i am sorry.
if i know more about this i will let you know.

If that picture with all the figures next to one another is representative of the klickies that might come with the books, imho there is not a single figure you couldn´t customize yourself from existing parts. Only that black knight´s shield-with-the-eye-in-the-middle doesn´t exist yet.

It does exist actually, that shield has been in two sets so far http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30%2064%207162 (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30%2064%207162)

Thanks Tim, I had overlooked that shield is/was available in those Dragon sets (not my theme at all, so I paid less attention to them).

Tahra, you think the knight has black arms? Could be, but to me it looks as if it could also be the more common anthracite colour...

:) this is turning out to be a mess.
 8} some people alredy found 4 numbers on sale (and bought them), others try in vane to go to cities where the books should exist only to come-back empty-handed, others got no news when they decided to subscribe, others got a letter of apology with a mug (not a playmobil one), others are creatig a movement to destroy planeta deagostini, others say they have already a lot of numbers but refuse to show them online...
 ;) like portugal, spain is a mediterranean country.
 ;) no industrial revolution happened here.

Hey, the Poseidon, (number 7) was in another thread and people were wondering if it was a custom or not, what with having non-green feet.

ETA: Just went to that thread and saw that it was already mentioned there...

Nice collection of these characters, thanks.
Mata Hari (16) is a bit dark given that both her parents were native Dutch.

Must keep an eye out for the da Vinci and Marco Polo ones. That green laurel wreath is nice too.

I'm guessing that no.54, Stella of Rock should be Rockstar.

Amazing news! Looks like an (inferior) Athena, a female ninja, Diana Ross, and maybe Florence Nightingale, and a medieval queen or princess. So neat. WHY DOESN'T PM DO THIS IN THEIR MAIN LINE???

I keep adding new ebay searches to catch these figures, my latest scored the Marco Polo figure!!

There was a big fuss over there about the lack of women.

I really wanted the white roman legs with brown sandals and (even more) the grey roman hair (the no-hat tied hair) and that green "laurel"...  But not very willing to pay a fortune for those.

I wish there was an affordable german edition. I could pretend it was for study, right?  >:D

tahra, scour ebay, I've gotten two Greeks (one MIB, one loose) for not that much money. I mean, it's worth it!

update: the Greek is still available on the French site Tiermann posted, along with a lot of other great ones (Hamlet, Van Gogh, Mozart, Mesopotamian), but they only let you put in a French address for shipping. :( If there was a French Playmofriend willing to help out I would make it worth his or her while!

Take a deep breath.
I ordered some figures from the French site using the address from a friend in France for shipping. Shipping was supposed to take 3 weeks max. Now 6 weeks have passed and my order still hasn´t beeen processed.
I phoned their customer-service and their response was that they have to first serve those people with a subscription on the complete series... ::)  And meanwhile the figures I ordered a month and a half ago are shown as "temporarily unavailable" since several weeks.
I`m keeping  :crossed: that one day I´ll eventually receive my order...

I want a second one I can open, I have to keep this one MIB  8}

That's terrible news about the ordering Hadoque. I hope luck is with you.

Blows my mind that a "Playmohistory" series is not already on the shelves in all countries, that we have to scour odd websites for what scraps we can get. Did the Gnomes of Zirndorf not see the sales figures for Martin Luther and think "Hmmm...." ????
