I really do want to know what things people were so cryptically excited about in that old thread. I didn't see anything to thrill an aficionado of historical themes. Maybe I was looking at the wrong thing?

Sorry but the actual cutoff date is January 28th. After that the toy fair announcements will be made and PCC members will be free to talk about what we have seen in the catalog.
Some stuff has been posted otherwise at Klickywelt from leaked catalog or through instuctions that have been gleaned from the Playmobil.de site. So there is some info out there if you look in the right places.

One of the things that got some of us excited was the new Zoo  sets that are available this month.  I'm actually a little jealous that I will have to wait to get them (though I may be making a trip to the funpark in Florida to cut down my wait time).  Another item that I'm excited for is the Daycare (both of which are currently seen on the German Playmobil site (and the only reason that I will mention them here).

Of course we've already seen a few of the items that Toys R Us purchased exclusive early rights to (The Amusement/ Fair and the new Coast Guard themes)  I'm hoping to see them grab a couple of the themes from this year...

Go do some searching on the German site and you'll find a lot of the new stuff.  But some of it has already appeared on the US site as well (the exclusives that they added a few weeks ago.)

I am somewhat hopeful that TRU willget the zoo theme early. From the instructions off PlaymoDB there may be some US zoo sets coming so possibly they will pick up the bagged animals as well. That would be fantastic, but is all speculation on my part.

I think Toys R Us may because it looked to me that they went after the bigger sellers in the past (They bought the Dragon Knights early, then the Amusement and Coast Guard) I do really hope they pick up the zoo!  That's one of my biggest wants coming this year.  I found 3 whole themes that I want this year- its going to get a bit expensive

Wont the next batch of figures be available soon too? Januari or early Februari?

The German catalogue says February. And the Benelux won't be served (much) later, I think.

Generally it seems to be April before I actually get them in hand here in the US.

If you want to see some more of the new releases... Go snooping around the U.S. online shop- seems that August is going to be a popular month.

I did that last night!!  Fun stuff coming out :)  Since I wasn't in the know of Playmobil until recently I missed out on what I am learning/guessing was a better castle set (3666?) than the more recent ones.  So I am curious about the new one coming our way later this year. I've been slowly getting all the medieval buildings as they have been available on Playmobil US.
