Title: Some Customs
Post by: Tiermann on June 29, 2014, 16:19:19
Rather than starting a bunch of different threads I will just lump together my customs in this one. I have a little group of customs done related to my current Carnival diorama.

First, one of those test your strength games.

It's the measuring stick and holder from the arctic dinosaurs theme, plus a wall clip holder piece from System X with a clip holding a small hammer. With a red SysX piece in the back of it, it balances nicely without anything else to hold it on. That is all put on a couple of layers of SystemX flat pieces to make a base. The light on top is from the Playmospace theme I had extra in my spares box. Stuck on top with a tiny bit of tacky putty.  Attendant from the space cars set behind it, a basket of teddy bears and it's set to go.

Appearing on stage right now is this Jazz woodwinds guy made up of the figure from the Asian Dragon Knights carry set, plus purple hair from the ghost pirate special and a black hat out of the spares box.

A very simple one, I wanted the Ferris Wheel attendant to handle the line at the Ferris Wheel so I needed a ticket taker. This is a mostly stock figure out of my modern themes fig box, with a green hat added. With the color scheme I think she works great for the carnival.

Also spotted at the carnival is a completely unrelated figure.

The Jackal - haven't really decided if he is a good guy or a bad guy or chaotic or what yet. Basic black body parts with accessories and then the head from Electro in the Figures series and the Anubis head mask from the Egyptians.

That's it for the time being. Thanks for reading

Indeed, the jackal is the man. He reminds me of batman, seems to me he's a superhero!  :)

I'm all excited to see some shots of an actual fair diorama already

Here are a couple of newer customish figures.
The first I can't take credit for as I bought them from a seller out of Malta. They are great looking though and wanted to share. The basis for both is the Prince figure form the Princess Fantasy Castle set  5142. The guard captain has gold chainmail neck piece swapped in and the gold chainmail hair. All of the figures have the anniversary knight chrome helmet. The regular guards have the arms swapped for plain creamish white to match the torso center. I had assumed that the Fantasy figure would be more pink but in fact the color is a nice dull maroon color as you see.

This is my version of the Bali figure from Series 7 as a male. Pretty simple swap out of a speedo guy top half with the black hair and then adding appropriate gold accessories.

That's it for the moment, just wanted to share them with you all.

Those work incredibly well :)

I think everyone had that idea :) He looks great too! We went with the female indian head (minus lashes - for some reason, males do NOT have eyelashes  ::) )...

Stunning, all of them!
The clothes from the prince in the fairy castle have very nice printing and I really like his white pants + brown boots combo, I hadn't noticed him before.

The helmets are so shiny they work like a mirror  :)

Those guards look great beautiful purple costumes with chainmail and those shiny helmets, the balti guy you customised looks surprisingly good. The band also looks good and the idea for the Test your Strength game is very well executed.

The  Jackal looks good maybe you should do some stories to develop his character.

Thanks fro the comments everyone. Yes the Jackal needs a story or two eventually. I'm working on the Santa castle right now, and I have photos of my last carnival diorama as well as photos for a review of the now retired main zoo set I've never finished too. Santa gets first dibs for the season though.
