Look great to me, I still think they look like Enfield rifles which are ACW rifles.  Brown straps look better. :)

These are percussion cap rifles.

We talked about this before, didn't we?

Here's a Lee Enfield percussion cap rifle in use  (Fort Rinella in Malta judging by the uniform) and percussion cap rifles were around from the 1820s, so OK for ACW.

Thanks Baron, for your approval! and brown?...ok, will buy more next round  ;)

Yes, WM, I wouldn't have bought so many without asking you experts for your opinions :-[

Dear Playmofire...thank you...now I can put them away on the shelves again without any corrections

Another thing, fellow collectors, if youre thinking of spray the barrels, do consider drilling the bore...it really looks better ;D

Oh...btw, is it ok to fit a PM old-type bayonet?
(I only asked myself after spraying them but its too late because it will surely scratch off the thin sprayed paint) :P

Bayonet design didn't change a great deal over the years, cheng.  I can remember that when the UK switched to the Belgian FN rilfe (probably in the mid-19950s onwards) the problem arose that the standard bayonet wouldn't fit it,
I should think so, bayonets didn't change much in their design over the years

I can't add anything about the rifles (my Playmo-history mostly ends after 1805), but those figures are awesome customs!
Especially the Zouaves, the idea of cutting those yellow ropes to put them on the red bonnet-ends is great!  8-)
Did you glue just glue the rope bits on, or did you first make small holes in the bonnets?
The yellow lines are pvc-stripes I assume, or are they painted on?

Cheng, did you follow that link I posted?

Those rifles you got are perfect.  The link to Cabelas shows tonnes of different civil war era percussion cap rifles (that you can still buy today from them).

thanks for your comments regarding the bayonets, Gordon!

and WM...yes, of course, I saw those very detailed information about those rifles...I'm happy as long as they are passable for PM..thanks once against.

just gluing wont work..no glue can hold such tiny surfaces, definitely ot superglue....I just drilled and pushed the fatter 'ropes'
neither....I just masked and sprayed the yellow edges...my photos are not very clear, sorry :P

Cheng, you're the masking tape hero! I would have painted those with a brush.
Nobody asked about the backpacks, I guess they're made from trimmed cardigans, aren't they?
