Hi, my name is Pippa.
I have been collecting Playmobil on and off since I discovered it when I was a kid. First Western (which my parents still have most of) then Pirates, followed by a combination of Knights, Medieval & Fantasy. And somewhere along the way a Victorian Mansion, which I just couldn't resist. :) About 8 years ago I packed it all carefully away and put collecting on a hiatus as to make room for other things.
Now I have a 3.5 yo son and have been waiting patiently to introduce him to "real" Playmobil. (He already has an impressive collection of 1.2.3.) He loves buses so for Christmas Santa brought him the City Bus, with some extra passengers to make it more interesting. From looking at the recent catalog he seems more interested in the modern sets so I think the majority of my older stuff will remain packed up for now. I've been having fun looking over everything that has come and gone while I've been on hiatus and this site has been a great resource. Though it's making it hard to resist building onto my existing themes. ;)
I hope to have lots of fun here as I rediscover Playmobil.

 A warm welcome from your neighbor to the north west in Gettysburg. My 3 year old great nephew was here yesterday and we had a grand time with my Playmobil collection. It is all so much more fun looking through the eyes of a child. So happy to hear you are carrying on the Playmobil tradition with your son. (And it is a great excuse for purchasing some new sets!) ;D

Welcome from the Netherlands.
Sounds like you have a varied collection already! Maybe to expand on it, you can look for the stuff that you feel is still missing?
I would strongly advice looking at the offer of Direct Service items, since they have some great western and medieval stuff there you cant find in the stores, and which tends to be very expensive on ebay and other second hand markets.
Personly I am gathering all the steck houses that got released since I started collecting a few years ago.. already have the bakery, a yellow house, the museum and will get the blacksmith this year. It's already enough to create a nice village and with a little camera trickery it can even look like a city. :)
But seriously, direct service is your friend. :)

Thanks for the warm welcome and tips!
I will definitely check out the RC trains.
As for DS - WOW!!! The Museum re-release is a must have.
I can see it's going to be a challenge to focus on what interests my son. Oh and I was showing my husband the catalog, and now HE wants various rock band figures.

Welcome from Holland! I also rediscovered my love for Playmobil when my children started playing with it. My three year old loves the new police sets. We als have a couple of boats that they take with them to play in bath.
I hope you enjoy the forum!
