Hey everyone!
I am a self-employed graphic designer and live near Sydney in Australia. I have 2 children (who are 4 & 6). I grew up with Playmobil (though I seem to only remember having the one set, remember the hospital set from the late 70's 80's?) I also have German heritage, so of course appreciate the German connection to Playmobil.
As a designer I love the clean lines of Playmobil, the high-quality of all the sets, and attention to detail. I LOVE that there is no cross-promotion within the Playmobil brand with movies, tv shows etc. I really reeeeeally love that.
Since having children I have been able to indulge once again in Playmobil, and needless to say the kids love it. We have a pretty wide selection of sets that get a good rotation.
As far as I go, I have limited myself to collecting the figure/klickys in my home office. They just make me so happy. :-[ I have found the thrill of chasing down all the mystery figures a little bit addictive! I love the idea of swapping duplicate klickys with others if that is a possibility.
Looking forward to seeing all your awesome stuff, those of you with more time to 'play' with Playmobil than I have! Should be fun!!!
Mimma ;D

Hello and :welcome: from Louisiana, USA! Great to meet you. I couldn't agree more about the lack of licensed themes. Kids can use their own imaginations when playing with playmobil.

Hi Mimma, welcome to Playmofriends!
That first hospital is such a beautiful set. I agree with you it's lovely that Playmobil steers clear of the merchandise stuff.
You can exchange/sell Playmobil here, but I think you will have to post more before you can access that part of the forum. That's to keep professional sellers from using this forum as a sort of E-bay.

Greetings and welcome aboard from Victoria, BC, Canada. I too like Playmobil's clean design and attention to detail (even if it's not historically accurate!). I hope you have lots of fun here!

Thanks against for the welcome.
I'm building up the courage to post photos of my 'collections'. I feel like such a a lightweight after having a bit of a read of the forums so far!!!
That said, I am waiting on a delivery of a pretty good playmobil find on eBay I will share with you all when it arrives! ;)
Thanks for the heads up about the exchange/sell, and I totally understand. I better get posting!!

Hello and welcome to the forum,
We too really like the fi?ures but we just hate that it takes so much time to identify them in the stores. Anything over a few seconds is too long  We want first them all and then duplicates of certain ones. The kids now want all the klickies to have the rounded skeleton so they can change all the klickies around. We are and I am sure you are as well looking forward to 6 and 7 series.

Hey hey

I too like the clean design, and I especially treasure the non-Anglosphere approach that Brandstatter takes. I mean, wacky sets like the airport security, the hazmat crew, the African chieftain, the executioner, the pope, etc. - no UK or US company would make such toys. I LOVE that PM has odd stuff
