A little mistake, but unforgivable!!

Let's see who spots it first!

The stickers are missing off the sides of the deck surround.

Please try again.

The stickers are missing off the sides of the deck surround.

The stickers are not missing, though. It is an image of the 3550.
This ship came without stickers. The stickers you were refering to
are from the 3750. ;)

No no, not just yet >:D
I will tell tomorrow if no one has guessed it today.
just look very close to the picture, the mistake is really small, but so wrong that I'm surprised nobody has seen it before.

The line from   under the bowsprit to the bow is not installed,
I can't see the eye it goes to though.

(some time later, back at the ranch...)   I just looked at a 1988 catalog
with the near exact picture,  kit 3050,  and shiver me timbers, all
looks ship shape to me.  Of course I'm not so young anymore, and it
could be my medication. 8}

It seems to me like the flags are going the wrong way. (unless playmobil ships sail good going backwards.)  ???

Skull & Crossbones flag is red, usually it's black - though that may not be historically acurate.

The flags are flying correctly. That was the first thing I checked. ;D
They have to point towards the same direction as the wind is blowing the sails. Got told off once by my husband when I put them on one of my own ships the wrong way. :P

I can't work out the error, but I'm eager to find out what it is. :yup:

Here's a slightly bigger and brighter picture I found on the playmo-portal. Maybe it will help someone else...

This is an old one this is, I brought this to peoples attention elsewhere a few years ago, so I'm sure I know the answer.

The black Pirate in the crows nest has white hands.

During the change from fixed hands to twisty wrists for adults around 1982 it would seem that the only ones they produced where white hands at the time this box image was set up.

 :)
you are right sir gareth.
the handcolor is wrong.
i went running to check on my 3550 (still in the shipyard awaiting for original string) but the african pirate had brown hands.
i think that only in this box the color is wrong.
you have a very good eye.

 :wow:

Yes sir, you're right!!
Didn't know it was an old one, i saw it a few days ago and just had to show you boys and girls.

I don't understand why they didn't correct this to begin with, if the right colour hands weren't available during the photoshoot they should have coloured it with a permanent marker or something.

I hope you all found it a nice task.
