Hello,

My name is Katie and I've been a lurker among these boards for a year or so and have now gained the courage to join and post away!

I've been playing - er - collecting Playmobil since age 6 with a brief hiatus between 15-21 years old. At first I received sets from every themes, but have now narrowed it down (by necessity - and space!) to Victorian, Western, Medieval (Steck!, Circus Romani, Pirate, Egyptian, Roman, Christmas and anything that might fit in those including the System-X church.

Right now I'm writing a fiction novel for adults based on the Circus Romani theme. (Nowadays I use my Playmobil collection to create scenarios for writing - it helps to have it all in front of me as I write - it helps with continuity : )

So glad to meet all of you and engage in discussions!

That's very interesting about using playmobil for scenarios you are writing about. My best friend is an indie author.

Right now, Minnesota but my heart is in Chicago. Most of the playmobil are at my parents' in the Carolinas while I have a tub at my dorm room at college. (That 18 inches wide windowsill is perfect for displaying and I couldn't resist!)  :lol:

Welcome from Tennessee!  We do some similar prompts here for school.  The kiddos really love it and of course I have a lot of fun.

Welcome!!  Where abouts in Minnesota are you?  I lived in Minneapolis for several years and also Mankato for years during and after school.  Miss it sooo much!  Your circus story idea sounds very interesting.   :wave:

Restriction is a good thing, but hey, I find that nearly all sets can attribute to 'city life' in one way or another  :lol:
