i like it  but did he have a sword? are we waiting for the other characters too?
-
The Nazgul
-
They look awesome!
The only problem is I can't see the Nazgul's face ... ;)
-
Great customs. The first one is my favorite.
George.

I was under the impression we aren't suppose to see their face.
-
Very good , cant wait for Gimli , Leogolas , Aragorn & other's :)9
-
Ooooh perfect! They look really good :) Will you do more of them?
but did he have a sword?
Gandalf had a sword, it was called Glamdring. I think you can see him swinging it a couple of times during the siege of Minas Tirith and the final battle near the Black Gate

Legolas and Gimli are nearly finished. Gonna start on Aragon soon. I need to get more of the Dwarf from series 3 for their cloaks...
Gandalf this grey is also planned...
-
Love them! I am a LOTR fanatic.
-
Maybe the new fairies would make good elves?
-
Gimli son of Gloin
-
Great! 8-)
-
Great Customs, Gimli is my favorite.
-
Great custom, I like him very much!!!
George. :)
-
Gandalf the Grey
-
Sorry for double-posting. I intend to keep this thread alive as this is my only ongoing custom
-
I can't even pick a favourite, they all look amazing! I hope you do an Aragorn soon :)
-
Legolas
-
I can't even pick a favourite, they all look amazing! I hope you do an Aragorn soon :)
Aragorn is next...
-
I like Legolas a lot :)
Looking forward to Aragorn!
-
These are awesome! I think Gimli is my fav. Would you mind telling me what those shoulder pads are from? I don't recognize them.

They are from the transparent robot in series 3 of FI?URES.
-
Oh good to know. I really need to pickup more of the Mystery figures. I've been absent from Playmo collecting for a while, so I've missed out on some of the previous series.
-
Heir of Isildur
-
Great idea for the sword!
-
Awesome customs! Really well done. Can't pick a favorite, however Gandalf the Grey is really nice.
-
The Dark Lord and the One Ring
-
I know... the helmet doesn't look quite the same but its quite impossible to custom the blades on the helmet... Its just too much work...
-
Hey, he still looks pretty bad a## if you ask me. I love all the lotr customs.
-
I think Sauron looks good. That's the toughest one to do.
-

I like your version, here's another one (not mine, hope no log in required):

The Dead King of Dunharrow
-
That is amazing! Really good!
-
The Dead King of Dunharrow
Amazing! Great work :)
-
The Dead King of Dunharrow
Wow, very cool!
-
Thank you my Friends for all your kind compliments and encouragements. The Dead King struck me by chance when I was looking at my spare parts box... However, customizing him probably created more spare parts... Hahaha!
There aren't anything lined yet but I'm wrecking my brains for Gollum... That creep will be hard to achieve...
-

Grey Gandalf was my favourite... Until Sauron... That is.
-
I think Sauron looks good. That's the toughest one to do.
Thank you!
Yeah... I took my time with him but I mostly experimented and thank god all of them went well. He is the one, like you said, with the most crafting.
-
Wow! Dead King is awesome. Well done. :)9
-
Awesome creations 8-) You have an amazing eye for detail. Looking forward to a group picture too, if you should ever do one ;D
Gollum seems quite impossible, with his huge head...
How about the hobbits?
-

Thank you Jefe! He wasn't planned but came about after I did some mix and matches...

Hahaha! Group photo?
Well, don't think I have enough bare footed kids for all the Hobbits yet...
Let get round to Boromir and Faramir first... Takes time to look for the right parts.
I've been trying to match up a Gollum but its an uphill task...
-
Boromir and the Horn of Gondor
-
Looks good, I'm curious how Faramir wil look.
-
The Unfavoured Son, Faramir
-
Nothing fancy for Faramir... Experimented quite a few different medium to put the White Tree of Gondor on his breastplate but it didn't work out...
-
How about those crazy helmets with the wings on either side?
I never liked the hair-style you're using here, but on these characters it actually works!
I'm a fan :camera:
-
Wonderful customs here, I love them!!
Thanks a lot for sharing.
George. :)
-
Galadriel, Lady of Lórien
-
Elrond, Lord of Rivendell presenting Andúril
-
Elrond and Galadriel look awesome! Nice job! Love to see a big group pic.
-
I've got to admit that Lord Of The Rings was more my sisters thing I never really got into it that much but, still I can see a distinct resembalance between some of the more familiar characters they all look good some great use of parts Gandalf, The Dark Lord, the Dwarf fella and Legolas particularly strike me as standouts :)
-
I like how you managed to somehow capture Elrond's face... a playmoachievement!
(just can't relate him to those shoes!)
-
Yes that Elrond face (and hair and hairband and expression): very recognisable!
For Galadriel it must be impossible to find a long train for her dress in PM. But the decanter is a lovely detail :)
-

Thanks Jefe, let me finish with everyone first... I haven't started on the Hobbits yet... Their bare feet is such a toughie...

Thank you Dr. Dalek!

I was so tempted to put sunglasses on his face and title it as "Mr. Anderson..."
Haha!

Hugo Weaving is always frowning in character except for V for Vendetta where we do not get to see his face...
Galadriel kinda turned out better than I expected it to but to date my favourite one is still the Dead King.
-
Galadriel is great :) (not sure if I didn't say it somewhere....)
As to Weaving, it is AMAZING how expressive he can be in V for Vendetta, without ever showing his face! BRILLIANT.

Hahaha! Thanks Tahra, the Elven Princess is next...
Totally! I was very impressed how he was still able to charm the audiences hiding behind that mask. Love that movie!
-
Saruman, Lord of Isengard
-
He looks great!
We just did a LotR marathon these days ;)
-
Great looking Saruman. Too bad he's a big jerk-face. :P
I stayed up waaayy too late the other night watching Two Towers on tv. It had these little pop up facts about the movie that I couldn't resist. Never made to the battle at Helms Deep and I was still sooo tired at work the next day. :-\
-
Great custom, the staff is really good! :)
-
This is such a great thread
The last custom is really amazing !
-
The Witch-king of Angmar
-
Arwen, the Elven Maiden of Rivendall
-
Sorry for the double posting of Arwen, I totally forgot I kept a different thread for my LOTR Customs...
-
I don't know that I can pick just just one favorite! They are all great!
-
Great additions! :)
-
Not only are your customs wonderful, but you always have such great backgrounds behind them.
-
I don't know that I can pick just just one favorite! They are all great!
Thank you leefert. I am totally flattered.
I thought I would not do anymore LOTR customs after Saruman but somehow, I am always exploring new ways to represent new characters...
-
Great additions! :)
Thank you Pynedor for your encouragement always...
They are very much appreciated from the bottom of my heart.
-
Not only are your customs wonderful, but you always have such great backgrounds behind them.
Thank you Salamander. THAT is the beauty of Google images... Haha!
-
These are all great but if I had to choose a favorite it would have to be Elrond and Galadriel. Elrond's eyebrows are just perfect for his character and the colors of his costume just great!
May I ask what skirt you used for Galadriel? There's a trained skirt like that from 5451 but it has printing and I was hoping there would be a plain white one too.

Thank you Cloud Strife. If I remembered correctly, I used the lower body of this one.
Most of the time, I will lightly scrape off the print with a cutter and then use very fine sand paper to finish it off.

Théoden, King of Rohan
-

Thanks for the tip, larryhohoho. I will try that technique with a spare figure first. I also use a pencil eraser sometimes (an old method from Playmoboard) but this only seems to work on metallic paint and takes a long time. Your method just might do it. 8-)

If the area is big then its faster with a cutter but remember not to scrape too deep or you will have a hard time sanding it to smoothen out the scratch marks.
There other way is to use a rougher sandpaper first, then finish with a smoother one.

Théoden, King of Rohan
He's another fantastic edition!
You do realize once you finish the trilogy that there are plenty of characters from The Hobbit to do right? ;) Your LOTR customs are terrific!
-

D'oh...! Don't think I have enough Dwarf legs for the whole chain gang... Hahaha!
Anyway, let me finish with LOTR first... However long THAT would take...
Still conceptualizing Gollum...

I use an "ink" eraser - you know, it was supposed to erase ballpoint pen writing.. Mine must be like 20 years old or something..
Most of the time, works well - then just buff it up a bit... Pics in the PROCESS.. somewhere :-[

Oh! Those works too?!? I know them! They blue and much harder than the pencil erasers. I'm going to the stationary stores now!

Those are the ones I use, yes, blue ones.. And quite useless for the intended purpose - it would make a hole in the sheet, which WOULD indeed remove the pen writing, but not really the way we wanted it to :P . That is why I have a bunch of new or little used ones from AGES ago.
It does remove also the "shine" on the part - but I think ALL methods must. It's not fast either, but it does work, and it's not hard to get...

Haha! I totally remember those "holes" that erasing the pen marks create... Anyway, I realised the process of removing the printing defintely gives them a "matting" which is actually better for photography. Otherwise, those highlights are rather blinding...

Well, for that the only downside is you have to do the whole part... But you do have a point!
-
Perfect customs, larryhohoho! I'm very curious about Gollum right now, I wonder if there will be a speedo- dad involved..

Thanx Lynx! Great minds DO think alike... Haha!

Gríma Wormtongue

Gríma Wormtongue
:o
He's so.... ON. Great work!
(what's the neckpiece? "somethings" you cut up?)
-
I missed it the first time but Theoden is great and looks so kind but majestic at the same time. Grima is wonderful too and could probably pinch hit for Professor Snape.
Thanks for the ink eraser tip, tahra...I have those somewhere, probably with my sandpapers ;D
-

Its from this piece Tahra
-
I've said it on the PCC, but I'll say it again: Wormtongue is just right!! His blue eyes in the white skin, they make him totally icy and corpse-like. And I love what you did with the fringes of his cloak.
Hadn't noticed Theoden before, but he is perfect too, by the way :) Like Cloud Strife mentioned, he really needed to have those eyebrows to make him seem kind and stern at the same time. His armour has a good colour and look for Rohan.
I'm still rooting for the hobbits ;)
-

Thanks - I thought that might be it, but the fur? ???
-

This one Tahra.
I had to cut it open, fit it sideways and shave off the excess at the back otherwise the long hair would not fit.

Thanks - worked wonderfully
-
The Shieldmaiden of Rohan, Éowyn
-
Wormtongue looks spot on! Nice. Eowyn is very Rohan ish, but I gotta ask, why does she have a five o clock shadow? Is that suppose to be her bro?
-

Haha! Thats just the shadow from her helm.
Here's another photo just to be sure...
-
Eowyn looks great!
-
"I am no man!"
Great customs my friend! ;D
-
She's awesome! I wasn't even aware of a helmet like that in Playmobil. Her hair and face are just right too.
-

Ah..she looks great, as do all your LOTR customs! :)9
-
Chief Marshal of Mark, Éomer
-
I was waiting for you to do him! He looks fantastic!
-
Yep, once again, you even have his facial expression just right, somehow. Awesome work!
-
Marchwarden of Lórien, Haldir
-
He looks great!
I never thought of using that knife!
-
He looks pretty good too!
-
Uruk-hai Leader, Lurtz
-
:o
awesome!!!
-
Uruk-hai Leader, Lurtz
-
Wow, he looks awesome!! Great work as always.
-
Nice looking Uruk-hai
-
Impressive! Looking both like the character and like a playmo!
What are the blade and shield made out of?
-
Impressive! Looking both like the character and like a playmo!
What are the blade and shield made out of?
Thanx!
The blade is this one.
Had to cut with the tip pushed up slightly.
-
And I had to use a wire-cutter to first cut the shield to shape and file it down to Uruk-hai shield specifications:
-
Great head there, looks nicely mean
