Title: Expensive empty boxes!
Post by: skypurr on November 12, 2012, 20:39:58
I have just received a ds order, in which I had ordered some of the Christmas parcels.

When I looked at the invoice I was shocked at the price of them  :o

The green parcel wasn't too bad at 35p, but the tiny blue one was 75p and the yellow parcel cost £1.30.   :o

In total the six boxes in the photo cost me £4.80!!
The two elves were cheaper at £4.10 for the two.
I thought that paper would be cheaper than plastic, but obviously not.
At these prices, I don't think my klickies will be getting many presents this Christmas.

Your palmobil is having a hard time affording to buy playmobil presents  8} I wonder if the boxes that are made to look like real sets are the same expensive price?

Better to give your clickies a gift they like instead of an empty box.  :)

A few kegs, a new shop, more friendly clickies to keep them company.. they might like all that much better.  ;)

That's kind of high, you have to really watch the DS prices. Electronics are the worst. Last year I checked to see how much it would cost to get just the lighted tree from the Christmas room set. It was $25.00 for just the tree from parts, or I could buy the complete set off their website for $20.00

Wow Elaine, that is steep pricing indeed!

Like you say, not too bad for the green one, but the blue, and especially the yellow ones are way overpriced. The price we pay for our hobby eh?! 8}

Yeesh. If I need spare gift boxes, I'll just make them. I wonder why the huge price difference.

That's kind of high, you have to really watch the DS prices

I usually email a list of the items I want and then get the amount I have to pay.
The problem with this is that you can't see what each item costs until the goods arrive and you can check the invoice to see the individual prices.

Even checking prices of items beforehand doesn't always work - I ordered green and red elf hats that we were told would cost 15p, but when they arrived, the red hats were 20p each.

The good thing was that the service to the UK is fantastic - paid on Tuesday and they were delivered on Friday  :)

now I am feeling bad for all those little klicky boys and girls who will go presentless this year :-\

What if you flattened them out, put them on a scanner, and reprinted them on heavy card stock paper to make many of them?

Those klickies of your must have been good, just look at those genuine smiles on their little faces, they need presents
