I'm extremely angry about 2 months ago i ordered a rare item over the internet. today i received the item but it this miserable condition and enclosed with it a letter from Malta post reading-
REFERENCE FOR ITEMS ADDRESSED TO YOU BLA BLA BLA..... THAN
ALTHOUGH THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED OUTSIDE OUR AREA OF CONTROL, WE REGRET ANY INCONVENIENCE CAUSED.-
do you truly believe this is right??????
its better you never sent me nothing and told me it was lost in post, than present me with this rubbish. beneath - photo 1 is in which condition i received it. photo 2 is how it should really look like!!!

Oh no! What was it packaged in? Was it an international order?
-
i bought item from ebay and it was rapped in bubble sheet and marked with sticker as fragile. the parcel was all torn up and they picked up all pieces they could and put all in a bag and delivered it so . poor rubbish
-
Well, complain to the post/seller.... That is not the result of a bump.
I think maybe you shouldn't have accepted the package.
I've seen a delivery UPS van going on a roundabout, it's back doors swung open, and there were packages all over the place. Fortunately, no traffic, no nothing was trampled by a car... but if it was fragile.. well.. it WAS. Also seen them throw stuff about. Gentle they are not.
-
dont think it was an accient as you say tahra cos some small parts are molded to the otheres... unbelevable
-
Was there supposed to be a box? Cause that's only the boat, no?
You mean molded as in with heat?
What did the post office say?
It's dreadful that we are at the mercy of the post offices, customs, and those dreadful shipping companies..
-
I don't know what recourse you have, but I would send them a complaint anyway because that is ridiculous.
-
Was it registered / insured?
-
1 wasn´t insured :(
2. it was in a bag and´i didn´t know what was inside when i arrived home i found it.
3. inthe bag there was a letter from the post office saying -
REFERENCE FOR ITEMS ADDRESSED TO YOU BLA BLA BLA..... THAN
ALTHOUGH THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED OUTSIDE OUR AREA OF CONTROL, WE REGRET ANY INCONVENIENCE CAUSED
4. yeah some small parts where molded wo others with heat like :/
5. i will be issuing a formal complaint to the post office. to see what happened and why? atleast
-
You might want to contact the seller as well. Don't know if he/she can do a complaint on their end as well.
I don't know how it works, being uninsured... you should have a refund!
-
Obviously Malta Post were the final deliverer, but who delivered it to Malta Post? Check with the seller and ask how it was packed. Meanwhile, lodge a complaint with eBay and PayPal if you paid with PayPal.
-
Did the seller show a picture of the boat or only a box or catalogue picture?
-
seller is ok he refunded me but still i issue a complain with the post office for distroying the parcel in such a state

So, the seller got stiffed? That sucks too. Or did they issue a refund?
-
no he issued a full refund back and was sorry to hear about it
-
I mean, IF it was properly packed, it wasn't the seller's fault..
-
... marked with sticker as fragile...
a postman guy told me never write FRAGILE on a parcel if you send it abroad...because some guys are happy to break the contents....I had the same problem by the past, since, I ask to never write FRAGILE and since it's ok...coincidence or not?

There are jerks everywhere.

There are jerks everywhere.
This is so true. I am glad your seller wasn't one of them and your money was refunded, I hope he gets reimbursed by the PO.

The seller should have had sense enough not to pack that in a bag! I'm glad he reimbursed you. An item like that should be in a sturdy box taped at all edges. Sorry your item was ruined like that. :-\
-
If it was Australian customs I could understand as I seen them rip open books and dolls to pieces and still send it on to the recipient, really if they damage an item they should cough up.
This item looks like its been stepped on several times, not just dropped, totally unacceptable,
Glad the seller refunded you even though im sure you would rather have the items undamaged, looks like it must have been done the post service end then.
-
IT sounds like the item was boxed and packaged correctly. The post had a third party carrier (air line) actually carry the item to Malta. In their care the item was crushed by what looks like the air planes wheel itself. Then it was scooped up, bagged and handed over to the Malta post who sent it on to you with an apology. They are hoping you leave it at that seeing that it is just a toy. The 3rd party has insurance and it can be tapped.
I would complain, complain, complain. The squeaky wheel gets oil, so squeak loudly, not physically but in letters to the post master. With or without insurance no company wants documented complaints on their record list. Find out what was meant by "OUTSIDE OUR AREA OF CONTROL" Typically companies will send you a quick note hoping it will blow over. Escalate it and do not let it blow over, make them take responsibility
-
rasputin- thats my intention. an believe me that what it really looks like- ran over by a planes tire
-
and thats exactly why i oonly send insured boxes outside germany.. people are complainig about higher postage but those actions/accidents are the reason to do it!
iam truley sorry for u but u can do a complaint to paypal and write u didnt got it in the right conditions..

I'm hardly an expert in this area but, I can see why you and probably the seller are going to be angry, that is some major damage :o >:(, couldn't say whether the packaging was sufficient for the contents but, it sounds like the seller cared enough to wrap it up as best they could and to give you a refund some positive at least I guess, good lcuk getting it sorted.

Yeah, I agree, the packaging might not have been ample enough, although at least the seller attempted to wrap it up well. They can't predict how the post office handles items like this, so it's not entirely their fault. I'm glad that the seller refunded you, too. Sorry that your set was ruined, good luck getting this sorted out. :(
-
yeah lets say so i wouldve expected aa box or so not just a bubble sheet wrapping . but still i don´t believe that this damage was done cause it wasn´t wrapped good. or its really broken down to pieces and bits and also with tiny parts molded to other parts. i truly don´t know what happened to it while on the way. its only a real real pity
-
Seems more like it got sucked through the airplane's engine! 8}
-
Wow, that's not damaged, that is totally destroyed! :o :o
It looks to me like someone jumped on it repeatedly till it was completely broken, or if it was accidental, something heavy like a container or so fell on it.

I don't think (jet)engine ingestion was the case here, there would most probably have been nothing to recover.

didnt u bought a playmobil puzzle? would be funny when he would have send a glue stick instead of a refund :)
but its a decent thing to refund it! its a shame that this item is lost forever..

rms008 bought the puzzle and other things from me, and I haven't sent him them yet. This was bought from someone else.
-
Ya, there you go, your boat is now a puzzle  you should have thanked them for making the set even better. What collector has the chance to rebuild a set :P from scratch
SO the seller just bubble wrapped the playmo box, bubble wrapped the item with no box or did it get bubble wrapped and placed in a cardboard shipping box?
-
Hope you get things sorted out.
On the bright side you could make a dio with it. Have other ships rescueing klickies from a boat explosion.
-
to tell you the truth i kept it aside. just incase theres some one good enough to fix it up or else to use it as an exploded wreck/boat...
