Title: ancient chinese farmers
Post by: cheng on September 27, 2012, 03:36:03
not waiting for Geobra :P
here are 2 farmers during the Qin period (circa 200 BC)
....I added rolled-up thick white cotton (inner shirt visible at the collar) sleeves...not putty nor 'blu-tac' but are genuine PM parts ;)

It's the white cuffs, right? Nice!

thanks Ismene

and Arnaud;
nope, not those wrist cuffs...too narrow for upper arms
(unless 'cuffs' also means something else in French ;) )

and, anybody can guess who the dark brown(sleeve) arms are from?

Nice work, cheng.

I think the sleeves are bandages (maybe from the horse series) cut in half and the dark brown upper arms are from one of the African figures.  The lower part of the arm has been cut off and replaced by the lower part of a non-African figure's arm.  The rolled up sleeve hides the join between the two arms.

are the dark brown arms the ragged sleeves from a certain pirate?  ;)

or someone else who has the same sleeves. for the other part I would also have to say cut Vet bandages

Hello cheng.

Your work with chinese customs is always amazing, congratulations.
But I believe you are the reason that Geobra, has not created yet a Chinese theme.
They can't find new ideas for this and the only thing they can do now is to copy your customs.

Friendly George

spot on for the 'horse bandage' Gordon! ;)
btw I see new bandages next year
...green or brownish but the one on the goose's neck probably is too narrow, still, more new parts to play with
...I was very tempted to cut a pair of arms but then I knew I'll do more (and more and more collateral) damage :P

and Baron Marshall, our other playmo-authority ;)
BINGO!!
(tell us, did you search 'dark brown arms' in playmoDb or you immediately recognised the mid-length sleeves?)

thank you George!!

and GEOBRA....if youre READING,
PLEASE PLEASE 'COPY'.....Fi?ures series #6 ok? (and a Scot with kilts)
...I will gladly replace all my Asian customs' legs/arms/torsos/hair pieces with your originals and stop making these 'imitations' ;)

I recognized the arms... my first thought was the series 1 female robber... but then I thought they might be curved so that it was probably the pirate...

WOW, you sure have a photographic memory......I used 2 pairs of these brown tattered sleeved arms to make 2 chinese klickies with brown sleeves BUT was sure I only bought 1 such pirate and was wondering where the other pair came from :P
AND you just reminded me it was from my female Fi?ure robber!!  ;) (for your info, her arms are not bent ;D will show you the 2nd brown sleeved chinese later)

I should have logged in sooner, I would have won the prize. ;D Nice way to use the bandages, and the customs look great! That guy doesn't look so sure he wants that goose killed.

no prize for spoil sports anyway :P sorry, just kidding bb!
I was going to title it as "quarrelling neighbours" ;D but our klickies are always smiling, so it wouldnt have been convincing, but this next pic (I was going to show that the second pair of female Fi?ures robber has 'male' brown(sleeved) arms, might be more convincing, with more neighbours joining in the quarrel ;))

I think they look great and I wish Geobra would take some notes on so many of your great asian customs.

Now how on earth are they going to slaughter that goose with a fork ??  I want to see pictures of that

Very nice customs, and good idea about the cut bandages as rolled-up sleeves!  :)9

About the brown torn sleeves, they come with 3 figures; the female bandit from series 1 and the Pirate-special as mentioned by the others, but there is also a pirate with the same torso and sleeves (but with blue kneetrousers) which came with the infamous 4290 Pirates' ship  :P

thanks guys!
while we are worrying over the goose, I wonder if he's cooked by now

and Ras, I would be most happy to take a latest photo if I can only lengthen the neck of the defeathered chicken torso I have.

and Hadogue,
thanks, I just searched "Ragged short sleeves" and I see white Ragged short sleeves
too! I must get a couple and make some rail road workers with white shirts and rolled up sleeves ;D
