Title: Underwater diorama
Post by: skypurr on September 04, 2012, 21:13:05
Sorry I haven't been very active this last month, but since Kirkbean Exhibition ended, I spent over a week packing things away and since then I've been extremely busy with craft fairs and things other than Playmobil, but have a fairly free month now so hope to spend more time here.

I still have Gulliver, Hogwarts and Zoo photos to post but thought I'd start off with Junior's Underwater display.

The display was on an 8' x 4' board, with a frame above it attached to which was a undersea background then thick clear plastic around the other three sides.  To avoid reflection I waited until we were dismantling the display and had removed the plastic before taking most of the photos.

Here's a couple of photos of the whole scene...(the dustpan in the second photo shouldn't really be there  )

A close up of the octopus (this should have been my giant squid in the Hogwarts display but he wouldn't let me use it  :'( )

I liked his use of the tree house from the bunny sets as its lair!

My incomplete trawler made a good shipwreck...

Hope you like them, it was good to see Junior getting involved with Playmobil again   :) as he's been concentrating on his laptop and game design for the past twelve months.  :(

I'll get on and post pics of the other dioramas in the next day or two, when I can sort out some of the 60 zoo photos!

This looks really great! Junior did a very good job. You're right, the use of the bunny tree was brilliant, and you don't notice it being a tree stump when it's covered in sand like that.

I can't wait to see the zoo pics. ;D You better show us all of them!

Those photos have come out beautifully, Elaine, and really done Junior's work credit.

looks great, I really like the picture where you are looking strait at it. At first I thought you had hundreds of items but then I realised a back drop for a fish tank was used, it looks great and adds a  lot to the overall look
