Another diorama from Kirkbean (I'll get around to showing them all eventually!)
I wanted to do another Victorian scene, but not just a street, it had to be on an 8 foot x 4 foot board so space was limited, therefore decided to concentrate more on a small park. It also provided me with an excuse to get another fence ;D
First a couple of photos looking along the length of the display

A few photos of what is happening in the nearby street...
An artist is explaining to the local bobby that his easel and painting seem to have gone missing...

A maid pauses in her dusting to watch what is happening along the street...

Along at number two a special delivery is being made...

The tea room is crowded...
The seats by the pond are all occupied... (just noticed that someone had moved the ducklings and they are all in a straight line  )
(Thank you Bonnie for the idea for the water  )

Over at the bandstand most of the chairs are already occupied...

The band are busy playing a selection of tunes...

Just another peaceful afternoon in the park while life goes on as normal in Park Street...

Just wonderful, Elaine! I would like to go for a stroll there myself. I love the band stand and the lake. What was Bonnie's secret? Thanks so much for the pictures.

What a great diorama, seems so calm and relaxing.

Oh, it's absolutely beautiful, Elaine! So many wonderful details!!!!   I'm glad the water worked out for you, it looks perfect. I like the way you have used green felt(?) around it, I may use that. Thanks for the lovely pics, I'm going to go look at them all again.
-
Very beautiful!! :)9
The painted mansions are really well done! (just the pink one I like somewhat less :P Did Geobra's designteam oblige you to use their beloved pink? ;D )
Your custom music-kiosk looks splendid. I also see you used the railing of an inside-stairway for the frontdoor-steps on a house, very nice. :lens:
Did the police find the painter's donkey easel? :sherlock:

aaaaawwww the hat rack finally got to number 2 Victorian Street
Thanks Elaine!
I love all the details in the diorama. The green felt is indeed a great efect!
The general atmosphere is so victorian that makes me wanna be born again 150 years ago!

Hadn't noticed it until Gaston pointed it out, but that's a brilliant way to show off the hat rack without showing the interiors of the houses! :)9
-
More than PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!Can you also take photos from the interior of the houses,if it's possible?
-
Queen Elaine this is just superb. Given my latest mania for victorian sets this is just awesome !!! :) :)
-
Thank you Joe, Ras, Bonnie, Erwin, Gaston, Retronio and George
As the houses were against the wall there didn't seem any point in furnishing them as it was likely the furniture would move when the houses were pushed back against the wall. I just decided that the conservatory should be furnished as that could be seen more.
I wanted to include Gaston's hat stand so thought that having it delivered showed it off well. :)
I like the way you have used green felt(?) around it,
The green 'felt' in the park is actually from a roll of model grass mat

I sprayed it with hairspray to help stop the bits coming off, which helped a little.
What was Bonnie's secret?
Bonnie showed how she made the water for her zoo here

I found that using the card made it a little thick for this display so I carefully removed the piece of card after I had folded the foil around it.]
As the pathways were painted onto a roll of lining paper and fastened to the board, I was able to stick the grass and the pond to it and able to cut around them to save them when I dismantled the display so I can use them again.
Did the police find the painter's donkey easel? :sherlock:
Yes, it later turned up in a box, together with the chimney from the green house which had also gone missing

Thanks for Bonnie's pond how-to link. I am so happy that all the missing parts showed up. That is a common occurrence around here I am afraid. :-[ I am always misplacing things. ::)

Excellent diorama, Elaine!!! Very beautiful indeed!!!
-
That is all beautiful I like a lot of that great to have the houses and the market round the otuside, like the Bobbies outfit and I really like the park as a gardener then I have a really storng urge to create something like that one of these days but, with more focus on plants and beds, it looks like a very popular park and the corwds around the tearooms and lake ar elovely I like the tramp on the bench as well and the bandstand and band are great :)
