Hello everybody.
Do you know that there is one more new theme for the end of the year. ??? It's the "Wild Life".
Take a look here at this link.
It's the new catalogue from Luxembourg, pages 12- 13.
http://download.playmobil.com/public/eCS/Store/befr/FSICatalog/index.html
You will see also some other new sets that i din't know anything about these.
Greetings George. :)

Interesting ... Looks like Playmobil has heavily expanded its themes the past 2 years or so !!! ;)
-

OKAPI!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's my favorite animal and I've been wanting them to do one so bad!!!!!!!
:yippee: :yippee: :yippee:
This whole theme is great, I MUST have it!!!!
-
Whaaaat? Wow, I can't believe that these were just hidden away in the catalog! I noticed that there's also some construction sets and the new Noah's Arc colors are much more realistic. Great job Playmobil and thanks for finding this, George :wow:!

Hello Bonnie.
I was sure that you will love that theme.
George. ;)
-
:yup: :yup: :yup: Thanks so much for showing it to us!
Btw, those are some nice take-alongs on the opposite page!
-
And racing cars!
-
LOVE the Duke and Duchess two pack in the princess castle section!!!
-
I like the museum robber advent calendar on 59
The racers on 28 look like really neat designs
For some reason the new plane on 34, the engines look too big almost?
The gorilla is feeding the okapi
-
Awesome new sets!! I love the new bus on the sports and action page!
-
They must have listened to your wishs, bonniebeth.
That new Take-Along Knight set on page 13 looks great too! And the Knight blister packs looks great too. :)
And didn't anyone else notice the vampire and vampiress flying evil fairy thing on the Dragon Knights page?!? :o

i missed those.. want want want ;D

Well I have emailed them about it a few times. :-[ Guess I must not have been the only one!
-
Now that I look closer, it seems like the boxes on page 13 contain few pieces. They will probably be overpriced for just a plastic box, a single figure, and a few accessories. I'll probably still buy the Knight one though.
-
I like the DUO Vampire set. The male head looks diffrent
-
(don't tell my wallet)
edit: That barge doesn't have that name on it?! BAH. They should have done that with the first one...
-
The take-along house on page 55 is nice, though. Reminds me of a dollhouse I had as a kid. And it has those chairs in black/woodtone and red, the same design as the orange and white one in the grande mansion. They look really nice, and they'd look good in Chris's firestation living area.

how do you zoom in to see such details. My pictures are so small I do not even see what you are talking about :lens:
-
Click on the right side of the page so that you just see one page instead of two, then on the little magnifying glass at the bottom to put it in zoom mode, use the + sign to magnify it. Then the other symbol to the right of the magnifying glass puts it in the mode where you can move it around.
-
The Okapi look great, interesting rock formations this series.
-
set 5418 page 12, is that a new penguin bird and those evil green cats eyes, our witch's need many of them
-
Well, to make a first conclusion... there is not as much new as usual for a 2nd half year catalogue, isn't there? The catalogue includes releases for January & February 2013...
Okay, there is a "new" Wild Life theme, but only 4 relatively small sets. Noah's Ark could be counted as set 5, but it mostly is a re-release with a few different animals & accessories and it is a LIMITED edition. So not really a complete new theme as we "got used" to get.
Some small-sized take-along sets, 3 new blister-sets (the "Vampires" and the "Count with Countess" are awesome!), the usual Advent Calenders for Fall 2012, "LIMITED edition"sets for December 2012 (this time construction theme trucks, I think. Remark: don't these limited editions normally show up for spring of the next year?), and some small sportscars to take along.
Oh, and the Benelux exclusive 5040 (3 Black Petes) which you guys won't get ;D ... It is the Benelux-catalogue! ;)
What I do not see, and which are usually included for the start of the next year:
* new supersets or compact-sets (the small take-alongs instead?)
* new specials / specials+
* surprise figures series 4
-
yes it seem on the light side of new sets :hmm:
I bet its the current economy that is slowing things down at Zirndorf
-
I just got a batch of stuff and I have been wondering who the heck put together the most ugly pony ever. I figured it must have been put together with left over parts as it is way to ugly for a high paid design team to have created. Now with the new catalog out I found it in one of the new western theme sets. Its hard to see but the eyes are red looking. When you put brown eyes on a black background the red pigment stands out. It looks possessed
even my Wife thinks it is so ugly, with its golden yellow main and white/black skin. She asked if these corporate designers have ever seen a real horse while sitting in their glass castles.

-
Just bought that set and I really liked the pony ;D
But I figured it out: it's because it looks like a copy of Yakari's horse, the indian hero in a comic book series I read when I was young.
-
Is that a French comic about American Indians ? If so it figures why it looks like that  Great find Birdie
Now if only Geobra designers were a bit more keen eyed, literally the eye is white w/blue not red, big difference
-
I think the pony is gorgeous (on screen, don't have him YET), and the first thought we had was also Yakari...
-
so geobra is taking design ideas from comic books, ::) great, we will have talking sponge klickies soon. Why not take ideas for the cavewoman theme from the Flintstones and while there at it take ideas for future theme from the Jetsons.
Can someone please show me a white horse w/black spots and yellow maine, in real life.
-
Can someone please show me a white horse w/black spots and yellow maine, in real life.
I'm sure they can't. It's very silly-looking.
-
Not really. There are piebald horses that look similar to this.

Yes, but his mane and tail are white, not yellow.
Anyhow, we're off topic.

I know its off topic but they are technically "Flaxen" which is between yellow and white... you have to suspend your disbelief a little to make plastic animals anyhow.... BACK to topic... I need to get at least 5 adult Okapis....
-
Ok, flaxen, then. ;) I'll admit it does look rather similar to this horse.
I need about a million okapis!
-

 I like that horse.

I think this round of new sets should be good for a lot of tastes. I'll be getting several vampire, knight, and royal DuoPacks! :)
-

That might make the other zoo animals jealous... are you going to bronze one?
-
Yes, those Okapi are very nice looking, I need to get a closer look at its articulation features. I hope they are heavier to recent animals.
-
That might make the other zoo animals jealous... are you going to bronze one?
Definitely!
-
the other new sets in this catalog are the cars. They look pull-back or you put them in that launcher looking thing. I wish playmobil would have just released good looking cars that did not have some marketing gimmick. The cars look ok, one reminds me of James Dean, but they could have lost the launching mechanism departments salary and used it to expand on the car itself. I would have loved four nice looking cars that kind of looked like real cars and were more in line with all playmobil years past, just before the MadMax stunt series cars. They were all simple with only lights.
-
Some really interesting sets there!! thanks for pointing this catalogue out, George!
-
There is a 4th blister-duopack, in the Future Planet- theme: an E-Ranger(?) with a robot
And to stay off-topic ( ;D ):
Not really. There are piebald horses that look similar to this.

That's how cows in Belgium look like, exactly the same coloursheme!
-
the other new sets in this catalog are the cars...
I didn't look at those at first. They look quite bad except for the Hotrod one; that one is alright I suppose.
And does anyone else get annoyed at a lot of the new figures having thick wrists? It seems that more and more new models are getting these, and they really inhibit putting arm parts on! I noticed that the duchess in the DuoPack appears to have them. :(
-
Thanks for showing George. Just love to see new playmosets to be released. The vampires and rhe okapi's are great!
-
Not much new releases, probably a good thing that none of them interest me. ;)
Just pirates and medieval for me, and the new knights released use heraldry I dont have so I cant use them. Already have enough different factions as it is.
I'd probably be tempted to get some cowboys.. the bandits and the covered wagon sets look wonderfull.
-
Oh bonnie i'm so happy for you that geobra makes your wish come true. The first second i saw this set i imagine you celebrating so loud that i can hear you here in germany ;)
Reading about a "new" wildlife-theme really excites me but then i was a little disappointed when i recognized, that beside the okapis and some interesting base-plates i could use for some enclosures, most of the sets (and animals) where "recycled" items. And noahs arc? Wildlife? Are you serious?
Too bad that there'll be a vampires-duo-pack and again no bat. Or rather there IS a bat in the background of the set...so at least geobra knows that this species exists :(
-
 Yeah, I kind of wondered how Noah fits in with a wildlife set, too. :eh?:
My reaction was about the same as the first time I saw the ostriches and hyenas... I just about had a heart attack, and almost threw my computer across the room! Chris thought I was dying or something. I really hope you get your bats soon! I've gotten several of my wishes now, with okapis, orangutans, and koalas. I never in a million years thought they would actually do an okapi, though. It's so obscure, no one has ever heard of it. Bats would be such a great addition, and much more popular, probably.
-
Hello Bonnie.
I believe that you will have a very sweet sleep tonight with a lot of okapis in your dreams.
George. :)
-
@bonnie: Maybe i should hire you to spam geobras postbox with some bat-wishing mails. Seems that feminine charme works better to those guys... (http://www.greensmilies.com/smile/smiley_emoticons_ugly_gruebel.gif)
-

-
ok i don't have to read all the posts right now but i too am excited about the okapi!!! :o
it seems they're not clear if it's africa or asia now - they just want to please kids :D :)
-
Yeah.... two sets from Africa, two from Asia. Interestingly, though, they put the savannah animals together and the deep forest animals together, so maybe they did do their homework.
-
I think we'll pass on the tigers and pandas, but the eles + rhinos are tempting.. depending on price (our rhinos are freaks, and come in a herd :) ) - are there prices for these yet?
-
The new sites are now on the products page at Playmobil.de (http://Playmobil.de) :)

Thanks for pointing it out! Is it me, or does that truck in 5274, the tiger set, have the World Wildlife Fund insignia on it?
On closer inspection, the motorcycle does, too, and I think all the klickys have that insignia. Appears these are in conjuction with WWF!

:yippee: :yippee: :yippee:
This whole theme is great, I MUST have it!!!!
;D ...the okapi is very beautiful ideed... the only relative of the giraffe and very rare. There will be more Playmobil Okapi's than real ones in the future..
Wow... those vampire sets... I feel a realative or girlfriend for Randolph coming up... Those new sets inspire me. Lots of interesting f?gures as well.... *sigh* will this addiction ever end?
-
In looking a little deeper as I made my post on Animoblog about these I realized the horse in the carry along type set is a new color variation as well. So that color variation and the Okapis are new. 2012 is already the record year for new animal releases, more than any year previously. With these three that's 90 new animals or color variations for the year. So I don't think we can really complain about there not being much new in these few releases. They are predominantly animal themed, which is good enough.

Thanks! This had to happen when I'm off.... Oh well. I'll forget the eles+rhinos, I think.

That works for me! It's great having all these new animals.

If Sir David Attenborough & his BBC-documentaries are part of one's education, then one has heard of it ;D

How did I missed this 6 pages thread? It doesn't appear in my unread posts list ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
Anyway.. I caught up! ;D
