The manufacturing of Playmobil is going to be featured on a new 'how's it made' type programme called 'Inside the design' on the Quest channel in the UK soon

any chance it will be on a video hosting site? I would love to show it to the kids but we do not get these in the US.

I think it's 154 or 167, according to the website.

Edit: I watched the episode, and it's a shame that the part where Playmobil was featured only lasted around 5-6 minutes. Most of the footage was the same as that from the official Youtube video with the fire truck. There were some nice interviews and a few brief pictures of some older sets, but it was overall quite short. I wouldn't be too upset if you can't see it; check out the Youtube videos on the official Playmobil channel if you can. :) Thanks again for the information, flatcat!

I've seen it last year. Here is it was called "The DNA of things".
It is a very good (but sadly very short) review on the design and fabrication process of playmobil. There are three shorts per programe and Playmobil is the last one on that particular programe so stick to it till the end  ;) 
If I remember sorrectly it is mainly about one of the firetrucks but it shows pretty much a little bit of everything. ;D

Well would you have wanted to watch it if they marketed it this way

"Up next.....the old video clip from a few years ago that most of you have seen on the web about how playmobil toys are molded, and this time around it is with commercials"  :P
