I was looking at the picture and wanted to know about the blanket roll. on it it looks like there is a stick or gun. the old ones do not have a clip on top but a clip on teh bottom that held it onto the special saddle. Does anybody know if this one is the same as the old one.
Is this set available yet? I would really like to see it with out all that blue rigging on the horses. I think it would look so much better with brown.
I really hope that Geobra does not forget to provide the new 9 sets with a confederrate army.
I really want all the new western sets. There are some neat klickies in there.

It looks like its a piece of cloth, like the ones used in the modern house theme sets for towels. Definately not the same with the known western bedroll for saddles...
-
Western wont be available until August I think. The horse tack seems heavy. There's a cloth sleeping bag in the Dinos series so I wouldn't be surprised if they've used a functional cloth one instead of the plastic.

they marked 1886 on a bunch of stuff so i doubt that they are planning on confederates... but I am certainly hoping that there is a western train in the works (though it would be RC) to go with the soon to be current again tracks

you can see the furry yellow cloth from these 2 pics

thank you for the answers :wow:

These close ups make me want the theme much faster than August.... ;D or in my case, next january...

I bet that if this western batch is doing well, there will be more to follow up on it.
It probably will be selling good considering the absence of the theme for so many years, and the sets do look nice. Still not too happy about the soldiers using two shades of blue, and the swimsuit indians look a bit odd, but furthermore the theme looks very good.

I agree there are a lot of oddities with these sets. To me it looks like the design teem was going for a very "toy-ish" look. The yellow wheels, the bright blue harnesses, the multi colored uniforms 8} it would have been better if they were tattered, worn out looking rather than so fresh and clean, war is messy .

Some good looking new rifles it seems, but I'm not so sure I like the use of the cloth bedrolls. ???

I LOVE that the bedrolls are cloth. I remember as a kid, it drove me crazy that the bedrolls on the cavalry were just plastic and not functioning, as it limited play possibilities. I always thought it was inconsistent with playmobil's usual versatility. So I think this vastly improves the play value of the sets!

they do have the cloth sleeping bag from the adventure theme also
I always liked the cloth touch for the clothes line w/clips in the victtorian theme

Love these new cavarly klickies!!! Can't wait to make another huge regiment out of them ;D ;D ;D

I'm not a big fan of these new bedrolls. Yes, they're functional, but they don't look very good, in my opinion. The older plastic bedrolls weren't functional, but they looked really good. One could just take some cloth if one wanted to create a bedroll for the klicky to sleep on and under.
I'm looking forward most to the new corporal arms and I too wish Playmobil had picked some shade of brown for the tack on the limber. Also the new binoculars in that set look blue! :hissyfit:
Also, the wagon and barrels appear to be stamped 1848, not 1886, so there may be some hope for some new Confederate soldiers, although I'm satisfied with the current ones.

Thats a relief ;D the first pictures I saw from the new western line had a big 1886 behind the signature cowboy... so i just assumed... though I wish they wouldn't put any dates on things like those treasure chests with 1628 or whatever molded into the locks.... yuck...
I also noticed that the confederate add-on is back up on the playmo USA site... it was gone for a while.

I had not noticed they were gone, I guess its time to stock up as our army seems small :P
