Hello all!
Yesterday, I received a package containing an auction on a bunch of old playmobil that I had won. When bidding, I didnt' really know if it was going to be worth it, or that it would be a disappointment. The seller had some pictures shown, but it was more or less a gamble. I knew that I had seen parts of a Fort, an old Western house and a Middle Ages house.
Well this is what I got, have a look:

Now lets see what I could make of it... Here are the results!

I'm still not sure whether this was a good or a bad buy :)
Still, I'm quite happy with the western house, I'm not sure if I'll keep the Fort Randall, it takes so much space. The old Medieval house will probably be sold off too, since I have no room to start a collection :D

Some interesting things there :xmascheer:
Could the bits that you have no idea about be part of the frame from a market stall?

 I see lots of good old classic parts
Was it a good deal? well do you collect classic playmo ? If you do not and you paid over $50 then I would wonder why you bought it. If you do collect classic playmo these parts are harder to get as the years go by. Then under $50 would be a good deal and over would be decent for a collector and over $100 is high, that is unless you really, really needed the parts (the classic western house w/pitched roof is hard to get)
So its all relative to your situation 8}

This kinda looks like what you have no idea about:

I say "kinda" because of the awning cover being slightly different in the picture I posted. The one you have is probably an earlier version before they decided to reduce lots of plastic off pieces.
Here, you can see it better on Damo's beautiful white version:

The reason I bought it was the western house + to have a look at fort randall if it was salvageable. And in all honesty..another reason is that I just love to work my way through lots like this to see what's there and what sets I can make of it, its part of the hobby! This lot had lots of broken stuff which was disappointing, but in the end I think I'm quite happy with it.

It does actually! Hmm time to see if I put that together. Never would have guessed that! No idea how many parts I'm missing though...

That's great!
Are those ancient klickys light yellow, or is it the pic?
-
It's a great haul i would say, lots of magnificient old klicky stuff.
-
Superb lot!!! Great haul!!! Congratulations!!!

the medieval house still seems very usefull, a shame there cant be a door in there but it could still serve as a good gateway. Like in between houses in an alley or such.

Congrats on that haul, Keesinho! I'd say it's definitely not a mistake. <*)

All the "old" klickies I showed (4) are differently coloured than the "normal" klickies.
The white one is a different sort of plastic almost, it has another feel to it. The two yellow ones, as well as the green one are in a shade of color never found again on the more recent klickies. Only the very first sets featured these colours. I have another yellow and green with a (b) logo stamped in, also the pre-geobra branding age :)
So far the history lesson ;)

I think it's a great lot! I'm dying to get my hands on that western house. And I need all the fort parts I can get. Someday, we'll have money to spend on all this again.

I got round to setting up the Fort Randall pieces. It turns out the set is nearly complete! Only the tower has a few parts missing, and the bar used to close the gates is gone. Much better than I had hoped for!

And this is the result of Wesley Myers advice!

Too bad I am not much of a craftsman, to make a new top cloth for it :(

DS for the cloth and auction if you want the railing for the tower

You're very welcome. Glad I could be of some help to someone.
Get a popsicle stick for the front gate brace and cut the ends off it to make it more square (then just round those over a bit so it's not too sharp). That will work for the gates.
For the market stall/stand you have both shelves facing the same way - one (upper) should be towards the back and the other (lower) towards the front.
Ebay the top OR try DS (you never know!) OR just get some cloth, cut it to the right size and use the small point on the little scissor to make a tiny hole for each 'knob' and voila, custom top! Trim to size after. (The original one is actually made of vinyl, by the way, you could try that or some upholstery naugahyde.)
